update details
Dagon: by HP Lovecraft is an atypical horror game with a first-person view. It differs from other representatives of the genre in its almost complete lack of freedom of action. This was done for the sake of the plot and atmosphere. The indie title itself is quite short. A complete passage takes 30-40 minutes.
"Dagon" is based on the story of the same name by Howard Phillips Lovecraft. It is retold here verbatim. The creators tried to maintain the canonicity of the original source as much as possible in video game adaptations. The story tells of a former naval officer. This man suffers from morphine addiction. One day he found himself on a distant and forgotten island. There the protagonist faced indescribable horrors. The hero went crazy from what he saw. He left notes for people warning about the existence of forces that the human brain is not able to somehow comprehend.
The gameplay is reminiscent of visual novels. Only instead of 2D anime graphics there are 3D ones. Essentially, this is a set of scenes. You cannot move inside each moment, but you can look around, study the environment in detail and, if desired, look for hidden symbols of the ancients. As a reward for collecting them, you will have access to additional information about the writer himself. The game shows the adventures of the main character using voiceover. She demonstrates in detail the chain of events that led to his loss of sanity.
