The DioField Chronicle

The DioField Chronicle is a mixture of tactical strategy and Japanese role-playing game. The battles in it take place in real time. If you wish, you can play with a semblance of a controlled pause (when choosing a fighter, the fight will pause). The project stands out for its visual design. It has 3D anime style graphics and an isometric camera. The battlefields are designed as dioramas. Moreover, the dimensions of the units reach and sometimes exceed the dimensions of buildings. They can be given orders using a gamepad. The keyboard and mouse control system may take some getting used to. Battles are built on the need to lure enemies into traps in order to come in from their flanks or from behind to inflict additional damage. Frontal attacks lead to dire consequences. As the player progresses, he improves his players (there are several types of progression) and gains access to new equipment.

Victory conditions depend on the specific fight. Usually they ask you to capture a point, escort an ally, kill all opponents, or defend a fortress. Tasks last on average 5-10 minutes. Among them there are boss battles. Leaders have several health bars. Missions can be replayed to complete all objectives. The title, called The Chronicles of DioField, takes place in a medieval fantasy world. Events take place on a continent that has become tormented after a bloody war that has lasted for an entire era. The Trovelt-Schoevian Empire has defeated the Rowetale Alliance and is now preparing to attack the Kingdom of Alletain. The plot follows the adventures of a group of mercenaries who call themselves the Blue Foxes. The story is divided into 6 chapters. The story campaign can take 40 hours to complete.

The team consists of 4 main characters:

• Andrias Rhondarson - royal bodyguard who masters the art of ancient magic;
• Fredret Lester – cavalryman and his devoted childhood friend;
• Waltaquin Redditch - a noble girl who is also a sorceress;
• Iscarion Colchester is an archer who was once a nobleman.
