Thumper

Thumper challenges players to guide a space bug along a series of musical rhythms while speeding along long tracks at incredible speed, clearing away obstacles on his journey and fighting bosses at each level - all set against rhythmic music tracks.

The game world features strange images and abstractions. A beetle runs along its path as its surroundings change - encountering laser systems, spikes, energy shields and walls as barriers along its journey. Bosses appear randomly throughout each level requiring you to hit timing to create combinations which accumulate energy within its body before being released as an explosive pulse to defeat them.

User needs to ensure they hit all of the notes along their route - they are located both on walls and floors and at random points along your journey - at a precise moment in time to activate certain ones, producing sound when hit by beetle beetles. In some instances you will use wings to overcome obstacles and collect bonuses; on dangerous sections use drift for greater speed control or avoid dangerous sections by increasing speed near energy obstacles or colliding with spikes; bug's shell may deform due to inactivity when near energy obstacles or collision with spikes!

Progress is saved at checkpoints located throughout each level, with three dozen checkpoints at every level to safeguard progress and allow successful completion to accumulate rating that allows armor restoration. As levels progress more complicated traps appear and pathways take sharper turns.
