A Step Into Darkness

A Step Into Darkness is an indie first-person horror game in which players explore an uncharted forest to uncover its secrets of people who have vanished there while also trying to capture footage of its mysterious inhabitants - hoping that at some point, their existence might reveal itself before returning home alive.

One day, journalist Martin made an error that altered his life permanently: his beloved almost died and now requires long-term treatment; she remains unconscious despite several hospital stays and attempts at revive. To atone for his mistake and repay her medical costs, Martin needs a large sum of money as compensation; to do this he takes on any job offered him - such as going deep into the forest in search of strange creatures said to dwell there and film them, hoping the material produced becomes sensational enough for publication and yield enough revenue for Martin to pay her medical costs... but will Martin ever emerge unscathed?

Players will embark upon an epic journey by venturing deep into an ominous thicket using only their camera for protection - looking out for weapons to aid survival, entering a house located nearby and learning of those who ventured on this terrifying journey before them, all the while trying to dodge monsters lurking within it all! A disturbing atmosphere with abandoned locations, haunted forest paths and haunting atmosphere combined with an original soundtrack will thrill adventure horror enthusiasts everywhere.
