HARDDRIVE

HARDDRIVE transports players into an alternate reality where an ongoing conflict rages between two unlikely factions: those on one side being formed of flash drives and computers with futuristic socialism built onto them; on the other are electric cities of flash drives built by futuristic socialists on an electric city built from electric cities built of flash drives and computers which sit behind barricades in power cities on either side. Land of Pencils and Kingdom of Books represent two poles on which humans exist: common people vs high society. Each biome can be located horizontally within its respective dimension - some made of circuit boards and micro-laughter; while other biomes represent more familiar landscapes like deserts, forests or fields. The player takes control of a super soldier to defend electronic world. One day, book army stole technology from opponents and used electromagnetic weapons against them; hero survived but part of memory was damaged as result; after rebooted system by lightning discharge, protagonist returned back into battle against paper storage media.

Hard Drive is a 2D side-view shooter divided into levels created entirely by hand, complete with explosive barrels for use against adversaries as well as first aid kits providing temporary bonuses, new weapons and ammunition. The arsenal features machine guns, assault and plasma rifles, machine guns and more than 15 types of weapons in total; 15 varieties exist overall with various firing modes on each weapon type. Battles here are fast paced; enemies represent humanoid books or pencils who fight you in close combat while others hold guns to shoot from afar - as you progress, boss battles emerge whereby robot hero upgrades his armored suit in response.
