Rooten

Rooten blends adventure with horror into an engaging walking simulator experience. Unlike many indie horror films, Rooten employs a third-person perspective instead of first person view for its hero to move through three dimensional space while objects remain flat; its visual style recalls cardboard diorama replete with cartoonish graphics combined of both 3D and 2D design that mimic flash games from early 2000s; also featuring day/night cycles as well as dense open world environments full of events to visit; you may come across opponents at specific locations who could potentially battle each other; when doing so you may fight them off as opposed to flee them - something first-person horror titles can do not do!

Ruten follows a man as he ventures via helicopter to an isolated research station located somewhere in the middle of nowhere for work purposes - specifically examining strange mushrooms and writing reports for his superiors. Once there however, nobody came out to greet him - since the rotorcraft will only return in seven days time, leaving the researcher wandering the forest alone while becoming aware of an unseen presence that appears very interested in him; eventually this leads him on an unpredictable adventure where every action affects how it ends. The game offers non-linear play where player actions directly impact plot development as it unfolds over seven days - giving everyone involved control of how it all unfolds!
