Unreal Tournament 3 Black is an ambitious first-person shooter with an extensive history that dates back several installments, which plays as a multiplayer shooter on specific maps between predetermined teams containing characters controlled both by real people as well as artificial intelligence (AI). Battles between them may occur on specific battlefields in real time.

Developers transferred all weapons from previous parts, while also adding some new ones in order to diversify gameplay. Unreal Engine 3 now takes responsibility for graphics and music production as well as general mechanics; players now take charge when creating levels.
