Dimday Red transports users into an uncertain future. According to scriptwriters, Earth will one day begin moving towards the Sun; as it gets closer, its effects become increasingly catastrophic, becoming worse almost daily and potentially ending human existence altogether within 52 years. Killian lives a world frozen by impending doom while working for an assassin organization known as Syndicates with help from Meg whom he protects at all costs in Neu Bonn; with several endings possible and numerous adventures taking place there during their adventures spanning multiple world-endings! His adventures take place within its nonlinear plot in which human humanity faces imminent doom! Killian continues his adventures which take place within 52 years when humanity will soon end its current lifespan.

DR features hand-drawn graphics reminiscent of interactive comic books. It combines elements from both a visual novel and role-playing game into one project; even without an editor for creating characters' looks, users have plenty of opportunity to customize the look and image of their ward(s). Game players receive 42 character cards to create the identity of a killer. Mercenaries may commit any number of sins (the Seven Deadly Sins or Virtues), form relationships with NPCs and sometimes make choices that affect how stories unfold. At the same time, they both select an action or line while also rolling dice to determine their results and consequences. Fights occur here too - fights take place step-by-step where users must choose types of strikes before casting dice for results; while monitoring temperatures regularly so as to not become overheated in heatwave conditions.
