Scrabdackle stands out for its visual style. All graphics in this project were drawn by hand. She mixes pencil drawings with pixel art. Externally, the indie title is reminiscent of early flash games. The video game itself is an adventure game with elements of RPG, metroidvania and action. The camera in it is located at the top and at an angle. The player controls a magician. He has inventory and a spell book. As the character progresses, he obtains different equipment and receives new spells. Magic and items are used not only in battles with opponents (including bosses). With their help you also need to solve puzzles and gain access to some locations.

It is also possible to meet friendly NPCs and chat with them. At the same time, the user is allowed, if desired, to abruptly end any dialogue with an NPC, simply moving away from the interlocutor. In addition, the gamer can entertain himself by searching for secrets and studying magical creatures. The indie game Scrabduckle has a partially open world. It is divided into different biomes, each of which has its own musical accompaniment. The mini-map fills itself out as you explore the area. The map is divided into squares. Each of them fits within the screen. Moving through locations and fighting monsters takes place in real time. The gameplay is similar to the early parts of The Legend of Zelda series.
