Power Chord

Power Chord is a 2.5D hybrid of a roguelike and a CCG. It has 3D cartoon graphics with cel-shading. In the story, demons attack the Earth. The best rock musicians on the planet unite and go in search of the Chronocaster guitar to fight back against the adversaries. The story is told through cutscenes between levels. There are 12 heroes and heroines to choose from (some of them have to be unlocked). They are divided into four classes. There are guitarists, bassists, singers and drummers. Some perform well as tanks, others can heal allies and apply buffs to them, others deal a lot of damage, and so on. Each group member has his own set of cards of different colors. If a team member dies, the gamer will lose access to his entire deck until he revives his ward.

Due to the battles involving 4 characters standing in a single row on one side and 1-4 enemies on the other, the video game Power Chord seems like a copycat of Darkest Dungeon. But it's actually the spiritual successor to Slay the Spire. Here, too, you need to choose routes at forks, make stops to restore health, fight with ordinary and elite opponents, participate in various events, shop in stores, and loot chests. As in StS, here you need to pave the optimal path to the boss of the current floor and level up properly before meeting him. This product also has its own characteristics. For example, having certain protagonists in a gang gives you secret options in random events and allows you to get unique buffs. The progression system is mission-based. You must complete tasks to gain access to new maps, fighters and equipment. These quests usually ask you to kill 20 creatures, defeat the leader without killing your partners, and stuff like that.
