Garlic follows the adventures of a guy with an onion-shaped head. The hero dreams of meeting the Cyber ​​Goddess. She grants the wishes of adventurers who managed to pass the Sacred Tower. The protagonist is trying to conquer this building in order to meet a girl and seduce her.

Garlic's narrative is replete with references to games, anime, memes, and the current state of affairs in the entertainment industry. There is also a lot of humor in the indie project. This is a hardcore platformer with 2D pixel graphics and a side view. The campaign in it is divided into levels.

The hero can run left and right, jump, cling to walls and dash in several directions. Dash here serves not only as a way to overcome obstacles, but is also considered a form of attack. Some monsters can be destroyed with one hit, while others will require you to hit them several times in a row. Most of the time you have to dodge numerous and dangerous obstacles: fire, electrical wires, circular saws, presses. The gameplay is periodically diluted with mini-games. They give you the opportunity to ride a motorcycle through a turbo tunnel in the spirit of Battletoads, shoot at enemies with a stationary machine gun, and so on. At such moments, the title briefly changes its genre to racing, scrolling shooter, and stuff like that. In addition, there are boss battles.
