Subvert

Undergrave crosses turn-based tactics with a simplified roguelike. The indie title uses 2D pixel art graphics and a third-person perspective. The camera is located at the top and at an angle. The cards are puzzle levels that fit within the screen. The plot tells about the adventures of the hero in the Kingdom of the Void. The protagonist went there to complete the Trial of Resurrection. His goal is to bring his loved one back to life. The character fights with enemies in arenas that are divided into cells. Monsters don't stand still. They move or make attacks after the swordsman moves. The point of the game is to use each move as efficiently as possible.

The gameplay in Undergrave is similar to Red Ronin, another game from the same developers. The gameplay is reminiscent of a modified Sokoban. The hero has 3 abilities. He can throw his blade in several directions, dash in a straight line (until he hits an obstacle) and jump vertically, horizontally and diagonally. All these activities use up your stamina bar. Each turn this bar is restored little by little. If a fighter has a sword in his hand, then upon contact with the enemy he inflicts damage or kills him. You can destroy several adversaries in one movement. If a warrior is unarmed, he repels or stuns enemies.
