MetaPhysical is a cooperative survival horror game. Online multiplayer allows up to 6 users to play the game simultaneously. All participants look at what is happening from the first person. The ability to play alone is also available. Gamers are given the role of paranormal hunters. The choice of tasks here is designed in an unusual way. Users examine news items in a newspaper and decide which case to check. For example: they learn that in a certain house all the residents died at the same time under mysterious circumstances, after which they decide to go there. Missions are generated randomly. Voice communication in this game is used not only to communicate with other team members, but also for conversations with monsters, as well as for rituals.

In the indie horror Metaphysical, players can customize their gear between missions. There are flashlights, holy water, thermometers, salt, EMF meters, chalk, gasoline, lighters, alcohol, exorcism instructions, and even carpets. Weapons like a shotgun or katana are also available. After arriving at the location, users need to take measurements and find out what kind of creature lives there. It could be a demon, a ghost, and so on. Then they need to kill this creature and try to survive themselves. Depending on its type, the enemy can be defeated forever only through an exorcism session, a special ritual, or the use of special weapons.
