The story of The Qaedon Wars - The Story Begins begins with a story about the people of Qaedon who were happy. There was plenty of everything in their world: food, trade with other kingdoms. The races lived together and prospered, and there was no conflict for over 100 years. But since Eymonar the Archmage opened the Gorge, everything has changed. Everyone is sure that he cursed the people and kingdoms. Terrible creatures emerged from the Rift, and the people of Kaedon were not prepared for it. Few could resist these creatures, but the worst was yet to come...

Selecting a new campaign in The Qaedon Wars - The Story Begins will provide game settings. Then you need to choose a character: 21 heroes of different races and classes are offered. Once the campaign begins, the player will have the opportunity to choose 1 of 2 storylines: "Band of Thieves" and "Overlord". After choosing a plot, the gamer receives general information about the mission, goals and bonuses. The game screen consists of a hexagonal grid with various terrains such as trees, plains, hills and buildings scattered throughout the area.

There is no training, but there is a guide explaining what you need to know. Each of the 2 campaigns has its own set of goals. In between missions, you can buy new units or resurrect fallen ones. The player can choose among many classes and even their combinations. All battles are turn-based, enemy units are hidden around the map, so you need to act carefully. Units have 1 movement and action per turn. All units can increase in level, the gamer can freely spend the points received and experiment with upgrade options. There is also a lot of loot to be found.
