Portal Dungeon is designed for cooperative play. It also has a single player mode. Multiplayer is only available via the Internet. A maximum of 4 people can take part in matches at the same time. The game itself is an action roguelike with 2D pixel graphics. The camera here is located on the side. There are more than 12 characters to choose from with different skins and abilities. They can run, jump, use weapons, use objects (there are about 100 varieties of them). Items can be mixed and matched. The video game consists of 8 levels with different sets of enemies, biomes and leaders. On the map, users are allowed to make their way to the boss, choosing a further route at forks. You can meet a merchant, an elite enemy, ordinary opponents and everything like that.

The portal dungeon can be called the spiritual successor to Risk of Rain. The indie game borrowed ideas from there with the need to run to portals and complete levels as quickly as possible, because the monsters here only become stronger over time. Also here you also need to earn achievements in order to gain access to new content. For example, new heroes and heroines are unlocked here for achievements. Here you also need to collect gold and spend it on unlocking chests scattered throughout the locations. They store various power-ups. There are also some achievements here. For each race, gamers gain experience. It can be spent on purchasing and improving skills. There are 3 talent branches available in the city. Invested skill points can be reset. In addition, you can upgrade altars. To do this, you will need to farm a special resource.
