Vampire: The Masquerade - Night Road is a text-based game. This is an interactive novel consisting of 650,000 words. The project has no graphics or sound effects at all, but there is non-linearity, character generation and leveling. The title can be classified as an RPG and quests. There is an opportunity to go through it in different ways.

The events of Vampire: The Masquerade - Night Road take place in the World of Darkness, originally invented for board games. Or rather, in the VTM setting, where vampires and werewolves coexist with humans. These creatures do their best to hide their origins and true essence from mere mortals, which they themselves once were. This title is based on the fifth edition of the board game.

The protagonist works for the Camarilla - a huge community of undead, which includes various groups and smaller organizations. This society tries to keep the fact of the existence of vampires secret, forcing the undead to follow the rules of the Masquerade. However, the Vatican had already found out about them and, in collaboration with the intelligence services of large countries, organized the Second Inquisition. Its members hunt evil spirits, posing as anti-terrorist special forces. Because of their activity, couriers-drivers have become in demand. The main character is engaged in this profession.

Before the start of the gaming session, you are given the opportunity to create a hero. You can choose his gender, clan, sire, occupation before and after turning into a bloodsucker. Gameplay consists of reading a lot of text and constantly choosing a line or action. All of them entail certain consequences. Often, to perform a specific action, you need to pass a corresponding skill check. For example, to successfully intimidate NPCs, you must have advanced manipulation skills. It’s not possible to make a hero a jack of all trades, so you’ll have to carefully distribute experience points.
