Holstein

Holstin is a survival horror game with a psychological thriller atmosphere and action elements. The title differs from other horror films in its isometric view, setting and visual style. All 2D pixel art was hand drawn. It has 3D effects and a dynamic lighting system. The game has the ability to freely rotate the camera left and right. There are 8 fixed angles. Features include voice acting in Polish and English. Dialogues are accompanied by text. During conversations, large character sprites appear on the screen (much like in visual novels). In addition to communicating with distraught residents, in this video game you need to explore locations, look for useful items, solve puzzles, fight monsters, and manage resources and items in your inventory. Riddles here are solved in the first person.

The Holstin project takes place at the end of 1992. Events take place in eastern Poland. The hero comes to a small town called Jezerne Kolenja to find Bartek, who has stopped communicating. The protagonist follows in the footsteps of his missing friend and realizes that something wrong is going on in the settlement. Buildings, people and nature itself in this town begin to literally rot from the inside after an unimaginable disaster that began to consume everything and everyone. The main character needs to find out what his friend was doing in this festering settlement, and then find this person and leave this unfriendly place before it is too late.
