Dirty Wars: September 11 is a historical video game from Indie that offers an exciting journey into the turbulent times of the Cold War in South America, where the specter of communism loomed. Set against the backdrop of the 1973 military coup in Chile, you find yourself in the heart of the country's capital, Santiago, where you must navigate the treacherous waters of resistance.
In the early 1970s, the United States, under the Nixon administration and the CIA, had deep fears about the possible rise of a communist government in South America. These fears led them to take part in supporting a coup against Salvador Allende, who advocated the "Chilean road to socialism." On the fateful day of September 11, 1973, Allende was overthrown and a brutal military dictatorship led by Augusto Pinochet was established. This regime lasted a staggering 17 years, during which countless people were expelled, detained, tortured and disappeared. In Dirty Wars: September 11, participants take on the role of people fighting an oppressive regime and solve a series of problems in an attempt to outsmart a military dictatorship. The project provides a unique opportunity to relive this dark chapter of history, shedding light on the struggles and sacrifices of those who resisted the iron grip of the dictatorship.
