Starward Rogue

Starward Rogue is a top-down shooter in which the player is entrusted with the role of the pilot of a powerful mecha fighter, ready to fight fierce battles with equal effectiveness against both ground-based enemy units and enemy air forces. The setting is Megalith, a massive labyrinth filled with challenges to complete the single-player campaign. The culmination of the passage is a clash with the final boss, who uses all the tricks available to the artificial intelligence, which is responsible for the behavior of opponents.

Before starting the single-player mode, the user is asked to choose his fur from 9 options. Each of them differs not only in appearance, but also has different skills: control over time and space, homing projectiles, an impenetrable shield, and so on. By killing 350 types of units, the player accumulates consumable items dropped by defeated enemies. Every item acquired in battle can help in the future, be it a new firearm, explosive shells, or a short-term stat buff.

Thanks to the roguelike elements that are involved in the game "Star Reaver", each start of a new save completely changes the environmental objects around the protagonist and the set of enemies. This prevents you from preparing for upcoming difficulties and remembering the territories. Also, the changes in the gameplay are influenced by the found secret places, well hidden from the gamer. After receiving a reward for finding a secret, the mech receives an epic upgrade for a certain ability.
