The Crown of Leaves

The Crown of Leaves is a visual novel with point-and-click elements in the dark fantasy genre. The plot tells the story of a half-educated jeweler named Rui. He is also the author of many scientific articles on magic. One day he suffered a Great Misfortune, which forced him to return back to Latori's native lands.

No one at home believes in magic and no one needs his life’s work. Rui does not have the option to return to the previous way of life, because... the unfortunate hero does not have a penny in his pocket. At one point, a local baron takes from him an order for a bracelet for his bride. This deal promises good earnings, but a mysterious spirit nicknamed the Mad Rook ruins his plans as he begins to terrorize the area. All that is known about him is that he appears once every year and loves dark humor.

“Crown of Leaves” takes place in the world of Shan-La, where science and mysticism exist in the same space. There is electricity, telephones and other electrical inventions, but there are no guns or television. This world is inhabited by people and the Sahash race - anthropomorphic creatures distinguished by the shape of their horns. These two species are trying to get along within the same setting.
