Trevor Hills is a typical office clerk, content with his mundane existence. However, in the eyes of TV viewers, this makes him a low-ranking figure, which puts him on a one-way path to execution unless he can find a way out. Fortunately, Trevor finds an ally in Angela Solano, a stage technician at American Arcadia. Angela strives to ensure Trevor's survival by using her technical prowess and cunning to manipulate the world around him, opening his path to freedom. As the story progresses, players control two different characters in two different worlds. In the 2.5D puzzle platformer, they help Trevor escape and Angela hack the world in first person. Only through joint efforts will they be able to bypass the formidable corporation standing in their way.
