Nightmare

Nightmare was created for single playthrough only and features first-person view and three dimensional graphics, rather than its counterpart two dimensional and pixelated MMORPG of the same name. Herein, an unnamed hero finds himself lost within an ever-decrepit nightmare world. Ghosts roam freely among the main character and his surroundings, seeking to keep him trapped in an unpleasant dream forever. In order to wake up from it all, however, his protagonist must increase their sanity scale (something similar to health bars); to do this they need to increase lighting on their map. Just as in any game, here you have to explore locations with a flashlight in hand, collect and craft special things, study the environment, fight spirits in combat with tactics on bosses and participate in various events. Hardcore gamers may wish to enable expert mode, which changes core mechanics drastically and makes gameplay far more challenging.

Project Nightmare boasts of high replayability; each successive playthrough offers something new! When new runs commence, object locations change drastically with some randomly appearing while others vanish and the order of enemies appearing may vary - creating both simpler and harder gameplay experiences respectively. Furthermore, leveling plays an integral part in this independent title: gamers earn experience points as they advance and receive Light Tokens which they can spend acquiring various skills.
