Dead Ground

Dead Ground blends the tower defense, roguelike, and shooter genres for an immersive post-apocalyptic world experience. A group of travelers travels throughout the map before stopping occasionally at camps where mutants attack. At such points in time you must defend them by protecting this safe haven from them!

Enemies come swarming out, forcing you to install towers and break boxes at strategic points on each map. Upgrades for defensive structures are limited between levels; upgrades themselves are generated randomly - though any time someone dies they must restart from level 1. Random events exist as text-quests with options that resemble text quests that give bonuses when completed successfully by your squad.

Battle Damage in this top-down shooter comes mainly from its protagonist who controls like any top-down shooter and moves freely around the field, shooting actively at its enemies along one route while using free movement throughout. Killing enemies earns resources - water and gears - which can be spent to purchase buildings, weapons and equipment as well as level up. After each mission completer gives random loot of various quality; unnecessary trunks may be sold. Over time new trunks, things, artifacts skills characters become unlocked which have different abilities or skills and boss battles may ensue - creating two resources per killed enemy killed and level up!
