Jack Axe

Jack Ax is an arcade platformer about female Viking adventures, designed for four people but playable solo as well. Jackie serves as its protagonist while the other users take control of her sisters in co-op mode.

Jack Ax is packed with references to beloved 2D adventure games, both through Easter eggs and game design decisions themselves. For instance, its heroine can move quickly while pushing off walls quickly like in Mario. Meanwhile, her ability to throw an ax straight ahead and have it instantly hit its target will remind many players of Mario himself; indeed this skill serves as the central theme in Jack Ax. Interestingly enough, you can throw multiple axses simultaneously here too!

A mustachioed plumber is hinted at through dangerous blocks with faces that change when they hit the ground, just as his mustache does when playing this game. She can shoot herself from barrels like cannons reminiscent of Donkey Kong; similarly she learns to cling steep surfaces akin to Celeste while maintaining some unique attributes of this game itself.

Peacefulness. Peace does not correspond with boundaries but instead embraces all levels. A second feature concerns its surroundings: Norse mythology inspired locale and story plot of girl breaking ban and confronting angry god.
