Return of Obra Dinn is an immensely challenging game designed to drive players nuts. Set against 1-bit graphics with emphasis placed upon reflection and logic, its quest can keep players engrossed for weeks on end. Yet its variety continues, showing various objects while depicting characters' lives through depiction; giving us half-valued 50-60 hours of gameplay should we find everything. Return of the Obra Dinn follows the journey of an empty ship into port belonging to East India Company with none alive aboard and cargo gone. What happened to its crew? What? An East India Company detective arrives on board and must assess all that is happening there. A diary contains each person's individual profile on two pages for quick reference.

Gameplay involves simply exploring the deck and crew quarters with enough objects found, the inspector then begins seeing corpses that we approach close up; when near one we hear different sounds captured during their moments before death before finally witnessing its scene of demise where an assumption about who it belongs can be drawn; its objects help in this regard as well.

No matter how strange what's going on onscreen may look, all elements create the desired atmosphere that was intended by its developer. This game of detective is one of the toughest and best available today and could last from 10-50 hours!
