Insurmountable

Insurmountable stands out among other roguelikes by virtue of its setting: here you need to help an adventurer climb a mountain peak without forgetting to stop regularly for breaks and rest periods. Control is provided via mouse control; users direct where their climber should head next based on user orders using hexagon-mapped hexagonal maps; this title features changing time-of-day conditions as well as weather variations throughout.

In Insurmountable you have three choices of characters to select: adventurer, scientist journalist or journalist. They all differ in appearance, starting equipment, backstory and unique skills. There are 3 mountains with similar routes that offer exploration. As your hero climbs higher they gain active and passive abilities and may encounter caves, boxes or ruins where equipment left by dead adventurers has been left behind for him to collect - not forgetting chests where tools may also be found! You may equip the climber accordingly as its inventory limits.

As part of his travels, our protagonist encounters animals, people and strange beings; reaching his goal may be hindered by landscape, climate and the unpredictable events which arise randomly throughout his adventure. With death being permanent in an indie project if your protagonist dies you lose all progress made thus far and must start over from square one with all new locations being randomly generated for every new playthrough - this increases risk significantly and you could end up dying again quickly as time progresses - potentially ending all hopes to complete his goal and journey ahead!
