Tainted Grail: Conquest

Tainted Grail Conquest is an adaptation of a Polish board game of the same name and takes place in an alternative medieval setting inspired by King Arthur myths. Corruption spreads quickly throughout, turning animals into large and aggressive beasts while the ruler himself vanished without trace while members of his Round Table either became lepers themselves or went into hiding somewhere nearby.

People seek refuge from toxic miasma by worshipping large guardian statues called Menhirs and making offerings as sacrifices. Krzysztof Piskorski, best known as one of the authors behind The Witcher saga series was responsible for crafting its lore; Tainted Grail has two modes; story campaign and free play modes that alternate.

At first, the heroes have to protect the village. Subsequent epic events will unfold later. You have two characters available for choice - female herbalist and male blacksmith - which will affect how their characters meet later and join forces; switching characters at any point. Quests may be completed using various means and dialogue lines may change; such as selecting which creature should be sacrificed or cutting tongues from corpses of bandits in exchange for witch's power, etc. With an opposing party as obstacles you should try coming to an understanding instead of engaging in battle.

Step-by-step exploration of the global map occurs. Here you can open points of interest, collect resources, find loot, communicate with NPCs, discover enemies, visit taverns, hunter camps and obelisks among other useful buildings; some must first be freed from enemy control before being repaired - in which phase combatants exchange blows using cards which allow buffing/debuffing buffing/damaging and defense-boosting. When winning is achieved heroes earn experience; their experience helps increase levels, develop skills further while expanding class specializations over time.
