Dark Tales from Mexico: Prelude. Just a Dream... with The Sack Man is an indie survival horror game from a first-person perspective that stands out due to its handcrafted 3D graphics made using sculptures made in real life as its starting points. It also stands out for being first person for this reason alone! After being scanned using photogrammetry into digital 3D form, they were transferred back into real space using photogrammetry. One notable aspect is its setting based on Mexican folk tales, myths, and legends with gameplay taking place within an imaginary nightmare scenario. Alma Guerrero awakens in an endless maze with Baby Bag Man living there and she cannot wake up from it. Soon thereafter she meets up with her absent grandmother through dreams who gives Alma Guerrero their key and introduces herself as well as providing information about how she may escape their trap. Soon thereafter she encounters an unusual talking cat who provides useful assistance by informing Alma about their situation as well as providing insight on how she may leave this trap.

Dark Tales from Mexico: Prelude can be translated as follows: Dark Tales from Mexico: Prelude. Just a Dream with Bag Man. However, this prologue to what will ultimately become an epic series planned by its developers does not end here: during its pilot episode only managed to locate Esperanza and uncover more information regarding her mysterious cat. Throughout gameplay in video game form her body can be seen when camera is lowered while she held torch and interacted with surroundings with another hand; additionally she could crouch, pick up items, which allowed her to interact and uncover more information from her surroundings while exploring dark locations while solving puzzles!
