Project Colonies: MARS 2120

Project Colonies: MARS 2120 transports players back into 2220 when humanity achieved technological advancement allowing for interstellar travel. Under UN leadership, an agreement for colonizing of solar system was then concluded. As a result, colonies were established on Mars, Jupiter, and Venus. One day Earthlings received an alarming message from Mars; Space Marines were dispatched immediately in response. Anna Wright (nicknamed Charlotte), leads an elite squad of fighters as she tracks down distress signals to discover where her colonists have vanished to. As she progresses she acquires new abilities while improving existing ones - such as running left/right/upside down as well as shooting/shooting from side-on and fighting skills as she improves upon existing abilities gaining new capabilities as she advances along her mission.

Colony Project: Mars 2120 is a metroidvania game, an action and platformer hybrid created in 2.5D with fully three-dimensional graphics but always having the camera focused from one side of the playfield. Users are free to explore an open world consisting of various interlinked biomes on this journey through space. There's the Martian surface, office premises, once residential areas, caves and laboratories; locations which typically fall within this genre. They all contain areas which the user cannot immediately reach; to solve this, new abilities need to be sought out and used against monsters as battles ensue - using melee combat, ranged combat or combo attacks on them depending on your desired playstyle is allowed for effective results against bosses with unique attack patterns that you must remember in order to defeat them!
