Morbid: The Seven Acolytes

Morbid: The Seven Acolytes is a top-down action RPG featuring horror elements to elicit fear and anxiety in players. Developers from a small programming studio were inspired by Howard Phillips Lovecraft's stories when creating their universe full of monsters set on taking down its main protagonist - an offbeat white-haired girl armed with all necessary abilities for confronting aggressive foes.

Gameplay in The Souls game series echoes similar systems used for combat. You must utilize rolls, dodges and other special abilities in a hardcore fighting system in which artificial intelligence controls your enemies; boss fights often feature similar health bars at the bottom of screen that challenge users with unpredictable attacks and unpredictable decisions that even experienced gamers can find daunting.

The plot follows a chosen representative of fair sex who must face global evil in the form of The Seven Acolytes and destroy it once and for all according to an ancient prophecy. Her arsenal consists of pistols, two-handed swords, maces, spears shotguns rifles among many other weapon options; her "sanity" scale must remain normal as any time her mental stability drops will require starting over from that checkpoint again.
