The prisoner of the Night

The Prisoner of the Night provides an immersive narrative inspired by Brazilian writer Lima Arrais' story with the same name. Nartide lives in an expansive parental house; her mother constantly reminds her to cover herself before bedtime - yet one night, Nartide does just that and falls asleep without covering herself before going into sleep mode - when suddenly Cruviana enters through an open window and kidnaps her from his eternal sleep; to escape this trap and return home safely she must find light. For this goal to succeed on all 159 levels this journey will begin and come complete; voice over narration completes this experience perfectly.

Prisoner of the Night is an independent 2.5D platformer developed using Unity Engine and featuring 2D cartoon graphics in a cartoon style, drawing inspiration from Brazil's folk culture. The camera always remains at one side as you navigate this indie project inspired by Little Nightmares series to overcome obstacles, solve puzzles, gain abilities through using items gained and deal with monsters while wearing different outfits (12 total!). Musical accompaniment comes courtesy of artists Naldinho Braga, Walter Yanko & Graciele Callado who create unique compositions which compliment gameplay beautifully while featuring songs composed for both games which showcase complex depth as well as bloodiness! Outwardly appearing like children's game however its complexity lies within, including various death animations which is hidden when in fact this complex and bloody product full of death animations!
