Players of The Callisto Protocol will experience an immersive sci-fi setting filled with dark and depressing atmosphere. Users must participate in a horror journey while controlling a third-person character - dealing directly with enemies while using weapons or interactive objects, hiding from monsters as much as possible and using strategy when solving puzzles or activating quest items.

While playing through the single-player campaign, you will have to follow story cutscenes and move sequentially, making decisions for your protagonist. He must test out a special gravity gun which allows him to inflict damage from distance using scattered interior objects; you also must open passageways into new locations by solving riddles using hidden clues and notes.
