Return the Backrooms

Return the Backrooms is a first-person cooperative survival horror game designed for two, three, or four players online with friends. Players are able to communicate using chat channels while running through dark maps alone is also supported - and with meta progression this game offers something truly original! Users earn experience for each match they win or loss they experience during an unsuccessful race, and once enough experience has accumulated to meet a leveling requirement their accounts will level up; opening up access to new types of difficulty as time progresses. This video game allows players to run with flashlights through treacherous terrain while searching for objects to advance further, solving small puzzles, avoiding rivals' attentions, and partaking in chases. To avoid getting lost, notes may be written on chalk. Every gamer has their own color.

RTB is an indie project inspired by creepypasta, with a story that draws upon urban legends and internet folklore like SCP. RTB takes place in Backstage; an area made up of utility rooms. Room floors and corridors feature old carpet while yellow wallpaper covers their walls; dark locations are lit occasionally with fluorescent lamps hanging overhead, creating an ever-evolving labyrinth that spans many levels, filled with monsters to protect from. You must run away or hide when monsters attack; first aid kits provide treatment if this should happen - or treat partners!
