Battlezone Gold Edition was first released for PCs in 2017. This action-oriented title borrows heavily from its 1980 arcade predecessor by replicating tank battles as part of an immersive futuristic environment. As with the original, players take part in tank fights against opponents while taking control of different tanks to battle each other on battlefields reminiscent of those found in Battlezone: Arcade Edition (1980). Multiplayer play for up to four participants is also supported and it is possible to connect a virtual reality helmet for additional fun! Gameplay of Tanked has been optimized so players can control a tank from first person view from within its cockpit, where all relevant information and health indicators are displayed on a special display, providing for complete immersion and simulating real world tank control. Furthermore, its cockpit panel can be customized by including 8 detailed game or comic book character figurines as an extra immersive layer.
