Bound By Blades combines RPG and roguelike elements. The action takes place in the world of Ashmir, inhabited by anthropomorphic cats, where monsters have begun to invade. The indie project is aimed at a wide range of gamers. The game has a very unusual combat. Fights take place in the arena in real time. A character in combat mode can only move around the four corners of the screen, switching between targets.

The hero can deliver quick and strong blows, as well as perform combos and finishing moves. He is also capable of healing, blocking enemy attacks, or simply dodging them. At the end of the fight, the time is calculated and a rank is given. Bound By Blades has crafting. Some of the resources are obtained from the environment (there is cutting down trees and fishing), and the remaining components can be obtained as a reward for defeating monsters. You can craft bracelets, amulets, shoes, pants, armor, blades, etc.

To create items, in addition to ingredients, you need local currency, decorated in precious stones. The change of equipment is visually displayed on the protagonist. His appearance can be customized in the editor. Initially, only one character is available, with such parameters as strength, agility, armor and shield. It is possible to open two more as you progress. In addition to battles, the hero walks through locations made in the form of separate screens, communicates with NPCs and completes tasks.
