Romancelvania follows the adventures of Drak. That's the name of a broken-hearted vampire. Before the start of the story campaign, you can choose a guy or a girl to play the role of protagonist. After a century of blues, this bloodsucker decides to find a new love. For this purpose, the antihero participates in a reality show, which was organized especially for him by the Grim Reaper. The protagonist explores Transylvania, overcomes obstacles, fights ordinary opponents, fights bosses and tries to establish relationships with 12 monsters with different genders, sexual orientations and fetishes. You can try to romance them. There is an incubus, a witch, a werewolf, a genie, a zombie pirate, a siren and other characters. All of them have full voice acting.

The game itself is an action platformer with dating sim and metroidvania elements. Its plot is divided into chapters. The story has sudden turns. Romanselvania parodies the cult Castlevania series. This project combines 2D and 3D graphics. The camera is located on the side. Most of the time the characters are rendered in 3D. Their 2D sprites appear during visual novel-style dialogue. Drak not only talks with NPCs, but explores interconnected locations. He will not get to some parts of the map until he receives specific abilities. As this warrior progresses, he also opens up new rendezvous spots. Despite the presence of spicy topics in conversations with heroes and heroines, there are no explicit hentai scenes in this title.
