FATAL FRAME / PROJECT ZERO: Maiden of Black Water is a special part dedicated to the original games in the series, creating an emphasis on classic mechanics and immersion in a world of horror. You have to go on an adventure in a frightening world filled with creepy creatures, adding a gloomy atmosphere to everything that happens on the screen. The user will control each of the three available characters in turn, revealing intertwined stories where they have to understand the intricate twists and turns of the plot.

The plot of the story in Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water tells about the sacred Mount Hikami. In ancient times, strange religious cults worshiped water there, because of which strange events occurred that alarmed ordinary people. Many who tried to explore the secrets of the mountainous area ended up dying, which is why no one wants to go there anymore. Three characters will study unusual phenomena and decide to test and find out the secrets hidden inside.

Yuri Kozukata, Myu Hinasaki and Ren Hojo are sent to investigate. The player can equip himself with a special camera, which uses a flash to drive away ghosts and allows time for action. You have to run away from enemies, trying to find out the reasons for the crazy events taking place, making your way deeper to the epicenter of the problems. The main task is to find clues to eliminate the problem and scare away evil spirits.
