Controlling your fighters in turn-based mode requires you to use cover and the environment to your advantage. Merc Tactics' gameplay provides more close-quarters combat options than long-range shooting. Each skirmish requires an individual approach and depends on the conditions in which the fighting takes place.

Locations are randomly generated, including objects, resources and enemy locations. The artificial intelligence of your enemies analyzes your actions and adapts to your tactics and method of play. For defeating opponents, players receive experience points, which are distributed towards leveling up their characters, purchasing new equipment, etc. The higher the experience of a fighter, the more effective he will be on the battlefield. There is permanent death. If a unit dies, it will be impossible to resurrect it.
