Helvetii

Helvetii uses an unusual setting. Events take place one hundred years BC in an alternate universe. The action takes place in Gaul. The story follows the attempts of a Celtic tribe to resist the rot. Some kind of corruption spreads across the earth and distorts everything around. There are elements of fantasy. The enemies are based on creatures from German and Swiss folklore.

Helvetii is a 2D action game with roguelike elements. With each run, bosses, enemies, rooms and items will change. You can control one of 3 characters. Among them are the druid Nammeios, the half-man, half-beast Renart and the leader Divico. They travel through forests, abandoned villages, snowy mountains, caves and other locations.

The battles take place in real time and are reminiscent of slasher films. The selected hero can dash and jump, perform various attacks, create combos, throw opponents up and shower them with blows in the air. Periodically, the fighter will find gifts from the gods. These artifacts add various modifiers and change the fighting style. For example, one of the improvements reduces the damage dealt, but increases the chance of setting an opponent on fire. The fights are spectacular, bright and colorful. In some places, the fights taking place on the screen are reminiscent of fights from anime in their pathos.
