Amok Runner

Amok Runner is based on the novel Amok, written by the Austrian writer Stefan Zweig. In the video game, the scriptwriters did not repeat the original word for word. Instead, they took liberties with the source material, partially redoing the story. However, the two stories still have a lot in common. The action takes place in the early 20th century in the seaside town of Riverside. The plot begins with the arrival of a noble woman to the doctor. The lady asks for help with her treatment without prior examination and offers a bribe for this. And then the young lady is refused and leaves. The doctor himself soon experiences an excessive attraction to this person and begins to manically pursue her. He is the one to play for. In parallel to this love story, a mini-plot is developing, telling about the spread of the disease. It infects people and animals, causing them to move quickly and attack anything that moves.

Amok Runner is a 3D open world action game with a third person view. It supports AMD FidelityFX and NVIDIA DLSS technologies. There is also support for DHR and 4K. The main character is able to drive vintage cars. Because of this, the project is somewhat reminiscent of games from the Mafia or Godfather series. You can also ride a bicycle here. The anti-hero rides around the city, chats with various NPCs, solves a wide variety of puzzles and fights with various psychos. He can use firearms and dodge melee attacks. The gameplay is diluted with stealth episodes. There are notes scattered around the map. They reveal backstory and lore.
