Phoenotopia: Awakening

Phoenotopia: Awakening is a solo adventure of a young savior of the world who one day discovers that all the adults have gone to heaven en masse - they have been kidnapped by a spaceship. Puzzling over this mystery, Gale sets out on the road, facing dangers, to uncover the plot of the alien invaders. The passage begins with the village where the main character lives: there are many side quests and non-player characters with whom it is pleasant to communicate. In the course of revealing the storyline and completing the main quest, Gale will solve puzzles, fight enemies, carefully jump on ledges over abysses in bright pixel locations, as well as fish, cook food, collect special stones that give a passive increase in characteristics, fly rocket boats and play the flute. In other words, Phoenotopia: Awakening is a decent Metroidvania with fifty hours of gameplay, presented in a touching, kind arrangement.

Alas, no matter how obvious the advantages are, the disadvantages are also striking. The latter definitely includes inconvenient controls. It is focused on the keyboard, and you have to be a damn pianist to jump from that branch to that branch or perform a kick jump. In some moments, the mechanics are poorly designed: for example, sometimes you can’t carry out an attack correctly, so the combat system here is lame. However, the game does not focus on it, which allows you to return to the positive features.

• The vast expanses, represented by cities, dungeons, forests and even sandy deserts, are full of useful loot, which itself asks to be added to your inventory. Tools will be useful for solving puzzles, and weapons will be useful for spelling out puzzles.
• The richest soundtrack of 60 tracks will please the ears of the most fastidious music lovers.
• As many as five dozen enemies and twelve bosses lined up for a click from the lively girl.
• The curious and persistent will be pleased with the achievements table with 33 achievements.
