The Sapling

The Sapling is a simulator in which you will engage in breeding, growing new types of plants or crossing animals. Build your own world populated by unusual animals and phantasmagoric fauna. The Sapling allows you to choose a random mutation mode to be an outside observer, allowing nature to lead the evolution and create its own ecosystems. You can take environmental development into your own hands at any time.

Sandbox mode allows you to play endlessly, switching between manual and true mutations. An ecosystem can either rapidly develop or, conversely, slowly fade if organisms cannot interact with each other. The gameplay includes the work of a full-fledged instinct system. You can set both personal parameters for organisms and provide them to artificial intelligence so that it can build the needs of the animal, or indicate its abilities to see, hear, make sounds, etc.

A procedural animation system is available. The dynamic soundtrack works on the same principle, adapting to what is happening and smoothly mixing tracks, depending on the processes occurring on the screen. Many settings and additional parameters will help you create a unique ecosystem and watch life unfold in the world you created.
