In 2013, a nuclear apocalypse occurred, destroying half of the living population. Now people are forced to live underground. The gameplay has plot branches. Depending on the decisions made, you can see several endings. By performing certain actions and depending on the fate of the characters, players see a good or bad outcome. The protagonist is a Spartan ranger named Artem. He travels through the Moscow metro while in a modified Aurora steam locomotive. The hero travels east to find a new safe place to live in Russia. The plot starts with nuclear winter. The story covers a whole year in the hero's life. Some characters from other parts of the games or books have returned, including Anna, who is now the wife of the main character.
