Vernal Edge

Vernal Edge is a side-scrolling action-adventure game that uses pixel graphics to minimize the system requirements of the game to run on more computers. The project from indie developers has mechanics that were taken from various genres, for example, metroidvania, slasher or platformer. The setting was a fantasy world in which there was a place for magic, fictional creatures and races, monsters and incredible landscapes.

The main character of the single-player campaign is a young girl wielding a short sword. She wants to take revenge on the villains who killed her father. After this tragedy, the protagonist became obsessed with revenge, constantly training to one day see the corpses of her enemies. The virtual protégé is sent to a huge island where the antagonists are entrenched. The world map is divided into many separate zones where the gameplay takes place.

The developers call the combat system the main feature of the gameplay of the game "Spring Land". It is made on the basis of combo series, which must be performed in a certain sequence for greater effectiveness of strikes. The gamer must determine the patterns in the order of series on his own, pumping up only what really suits the gaming style and gives an advantage over enemies.
