What sets BEAST apart is its innovative "Beast" system, which puts morale challenges into the heat of battle. You have to decide whether to unleash your inner beast for immediate benefits or contain it to maintain sanity and control of the situation, which determines both gameplay and story outcomes. The consequences of these choices linger for a long time, requiring the player to face the consequences of their decisions as they navigate a treacherous path. The combat system is a fast-paced and sticky experience, featuring fast-paced, turn-based, gridless combat with an emphasis on melee combat. Commanding a squad of characters, players must strategically navigate dangerous environments, gather allies, weapons and equipment to survive encounters with a variety of enemies. From human soldiers and bandits to supernatural beings and cultists, the threats are as varied as the challenges the protagonist and his team face.
