Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages is a role-playing adventure in a space setting, using futuristic inventions that are inaccessible to human civilization at the current stage. The gamer is given an isometric view of what is happening, with colorful and large-scale comets, asteroids, bright stars and other celestial bodies appearing in the background. The single-player campaign consists of many main and additional quests that use different scenarios for the development of events. The territory of the universe is filled with orbital stations inhabited by planets, and enemy checkpoints where the user will be attacked as soon as they are noticed.

During the passage of the single story mode, which takes about 30 hours, the gamer will have the opportunity to try out more than 60 hulls for the spaceship on which the virtual protégé travels. Each of them is subject to modification to suit the needs of each player. In order to collect unique builds, the project developers added more than 600 skills of different effects to their brainchild. Proper combination of available forces increases the firepower of aircraft.

The protagonist lost his memory due to brain surgery. He had a built-in neurohood - Nero, which helps him navigate locations. In addition to the story campaign, there are 6 separate scenarios that can be played alone or in the company of friends. This becomes possible if you use a local network or Internet connection. Also, battle modes between gamers have been implemented, providing a chance to figure out who has the best skills in piloting futuristic vehicles.
