Anabiosis Sleep of Reason – survival horror from a team of Ukrainian developers. The story largely refers to the legends of Danko, a character from Maxim Gorky’s “Old Woman Izergil”, who saved his people at the cost of his life.
Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason takes place in 1981 in the Arctic Circle. Alexander Nesterov, a meteorologist and the last inhabitant of the module, emerges from the Polyus 21 station. He goes to the agreed place, sent in a telegram, where he should be met by a ship heading away from the Arctic, home. Unfortunately, the crew did not receive a joyful welcome; instead, Alexander ends up on board the nuclear icebreaker “North Wind”. It was long lost and thought to have sunk many years ago. But he was enveloped in an atmosphere of horror, darkness and even greater cold - time stopped on the ship and all the people on it turned into terrible mutants.
You have to wander around a huge icebreaker, through its empty cabins and holds, with a constantly oppressive atmosphere of fear and hopelessness. Find information about the captain of the ship and his crew and understand the reasons for what happened. With an understanding of what is happening, it will become clear how to save yourself. The game also features the “Mental Echo” mechanic. Finding the corpses of team members or a bear, the player is transported to the last moments of their lives to clarify what happened. The Soviet meteorologist was on an expedition without means of self-defense, so at first he will have to fight off enemies with his fists. Next you can find a chain and a water valve, and you will also get your hands on a firearm.
