Yoku's Island Express

Yoku's Island Express is an unusual adventure quest in two-dimensional space. The development of this project was carried out by the little-known studio Villa Gorilla. The official release occurred at the end of spring 2018. We, a small creature named Yoku, arrive on the stunningly beautiful (and hand-drawn) island of Makumana, with the goal of awakening the ancient deity of this place.

In order to achieve what we want in reality, we will need to go through a dangerous adventure, fight with many unfriendly opponents, establish a real postal connection on the island and make friends with the local game mechanics, which is something between paintball and a classic platformer. What adds interest to this adventure is the completely open world, many non-linear locations that contain many interesting surprises for the player. Pleasant two-dimensional graphics and the general non-trivial atmosphere of the game set the proper mood, which does not let go from the very beginning until the last final scenes of this objectively interesting project called Yoku's Island Express.
