Partum Artifex can be called a hybrid of quest and horror. The video game uses 3D graphics and a first-person perspective. The main focus of the gameplay is on solving puzzles. The puzzles in this video game are not based on just finding and using the right items. Among them there are a lot of varied and complete puzzles. In indie horror you can walk, crouch, sneak, interact with the environment, look for clues. The action takes place in a mansion that a serial killer will turn into an art object. He chats with the hero through speakers placed around the building. When the player enters a new room, he listens to the voiced speech of the main villain in English (there are subtitles with translation into other languages). He often comments on his creepy installations and explains the rules of the game he has started. There are a lot of monologues here.

Partum Artifex talks about a mysterious maniac. He is obsessed not only with murders, but also with works of art. The antagonist organizes an exhibition in a country house, where he invites only selected aesthetes who meet his certain strict criteria. He invites them not only to be guests at his evening, but also to express themselves creatively there, and also to be immortalized. The protagonist turned out to be one of the few who were not lucky enough to receive the letter. The hero, trying to move on after a difficult period in his life, finds this invitation intriguing and decides to take a chance.
