Beyond the Long Night

Beyond the Long Night is a hybrid of a simplistic roguelike and a side-scrolling shooter with arcade physics. Its two-dimensional graphics are made in the style of pixel art. Events take place in a bizarre underground world called Overworld, which is frozen in a time loop. In the story, the hero tries to break through the Dark Mountain, while simultaneously looking for a way out of limbo and trying to find a way to stop the deadly storm. He will have to visit 3 regions. The map, divided into rooms, is generated randomly each time you run. It is reassembled every time from many hand-made rooms. During his journey, the main character meets not only enemies, but also friendly representatives of the mountain people. A deadly storm follows on his heels.

In the game After a Long Night, the hero cannot run or jump. Instead, he floats around the screen thanks to balloons attached to his body. The protagonist can move in any direction on the 2D plane. He uses chaotic abilities against opponents, shoots and throws things at them. He also has to periodically find secrets and solve riddles. Items that provide various skills can be found in locations or purchased from merchants. As you progress, new items, lore details and improvements are revealed, which add variety to the gameplay. Upgrades can be combined with each other. The gameplay is accompanied by music that offers a modern take on chiptune.
